Biography

Since 2008, State Sen. Jim Buck has served the Hoosiers of Senate District 21, which includes allof Howard and Tipton counties and portions of Clinton, Grant and Hamilton counties. Previously, Buck served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1994-2008.

Buck is chair of the Senate Committee on Local Government and is the former national chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council. He also serves on the Senate Committee on Environmental Affairs and the Senate Committee on Judiciary.

Buck holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition to Buck’s work as a legislator, he is a member of the Learning Network Board, Rotary Club, and Mason Lodge No. 93. He also serves as vice president of the We Care board and is a retired real estate broker.

He and his wife, Judy, reside in Kokomo and have five daughters.
