Policy Analyst – Commerce, Insurance and Economic Development Task Force
The Commerce, Insurance and Economic Development (CIED) Task Force at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) seeks a Policy Analyst.
Founded on the principles of limited government, free markets, and federalism, ALEC is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, voluntary membership organization of state legislators. The CIED Task Force focuses on policy issues that impact consumers, workers and businesses in order to enhance competitiveness, promote employment and encourage innovation.
As the CIED Policy Analyst, you will report directly to the CIED Task Force Director. Typical responsibilities for the role include:
- Policy research and summation
- Drafting timely op-eds and blog posts
- Assisting with planning and execution of CIED programming and events
- Coordination of task force meetings
To succeed in the role, you must be detail-oriented, customer-service oriented, a self-starter, and work well under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a can-do attitude are also keys to success. Finally, you must demonstrate a strong commitment to ALEC’s mission of promoting the Jeffersonian principles of limited government, free markets and federalism.
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 1-3 years
- Some travel is required (10-15%)
- Start date: Immediate
