Policy Analyst, Center for State Fiscal Reform
The Center for State Fiscal Reform at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the nation’s largest nonpartisan, individual membership association of state legislators, seeks a Policy Analyst.
The Policy Analyst supports the ALEC Center for State Fiscal Reform and Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force, serving as a point of contact on tax and fiscal policy issues for ALEC membership and staff. The Analyst provides research, writing and editing of annual publications, including Rich States, Poor States, and drafts timely blog posts and op-eds for the ALEC website and media outlets. This individual also aids in planning and organizing legislator issue briefings and academies, as well as Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force meetings and workshops held in conjunction with ALEC’s two annual conferences. Additionally, the Analyst helps to maintain internal ALEC membership and model policy databases. The Analyst must be detail-oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. A successful Analyst will work well under pressure with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. He/she should have superb organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to ALEC’s mission of promoting the Jeffersonian principles of limited government, free markets and federalism.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 1-5 years
Some travel is required (10-15%)
