Director of Nonprofit and Corporate Relations
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the nation’s largest nonpartisan, individual membership association of state legislators, seeks a Director of Nonprofit and Corporate Relations.
The Director will assist in the development and implementation strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation of current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be responsible for development of fundraising initiatives, communicating with current and prospective members and event sponsorships. This individual will help in defining the Organization’s strategy to increase both partnership growth and retention. The Director must be an innovative problem-solver who will drive and initiate organization projects while working under tight deadlines. He/she should have superb organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to diplomatically prioritize demands. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to ALEC’s mission of promoting the Jeffersonian principles of free markets, federalism and limited government. Qualified candidates should have working knowledge and familiarity of the state legislative processes and excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 4-7 years
Some travel is required (10%)
