Desert Botanical Garden
Discover the tranquil vibrancy of 50,000 desert plants nestled amid the red rocks of the Papago Buttes at Desert Botanical Garden. Visitors can stroll through five thematic trails to explore the fascinating beauty of Sonoran Desert plant life, from towering cacti and alluring succulents to brilliant wildflowers and lush trees. Delve deeper to learn more about desert landscaping, nature art, cooking and wellness and more through the Garden’s various lectures and workshops. General Admission (Daytime) ranges from $24.95 – $29.95, Youth 3 – 17 (Daytime) range from $12.95 – $15.95, and Military Personnel and children under 3 are free.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West is Scottsdale’s only National Historic Landmark. It serves as a prime example of Wright’s organic architecture in that the structures are built of the rocks and sand of the Sonoran Desert and melds to the lower McDowell Mountains. To view the innovative desert masonry of Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and workplace, expert guides lead tours of approximately 1/3 mile. Guests enjoy multiple rest stops where they learn about the history of Taliesin West and its famous creator.

Western Spirit: Museum of the West
Visit one of Scottsdale’s most popular museums, Western Spirit, which celebrates the West and its importance by informing, educating, inspiring, and engaging museum guests. Western Spirit offers high-quality exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach addressing regional history, particularly as reflected by the arts and the dynamic cultural exchanges that have marked the transition of the Old West into the New West. Hiking – McDowell Sonoran Conservancy
Easy and beautiful 2 hour hike or walk around the Gateway to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. You will enjoy the beautiful vistas while taking in the nature around you. There are multiple routes depending on your hiking level…there is something for everyone!

Hiking – Camelback Mountain

Camelback Mountain is well-known in the Phoenix area as one of the top 10 things to do. It is an intense 2-3 hours, 1.42 miles, 1,250 feet increase in elevation hike.
