State Legislator of the Month – WV Delegate Joshua Higginbotham

Thank you, Del. Joshua Higginbotham

For this month, we are pleased to announce West Virginia Delegate Joshua Higginbotham as the June State Legislator of the Month. This award is used to highlight substantive state policy successes by State Legislators – bringing their local story to a national platform. The award is highlighted by a partnership of liberty-loving organizations: FreedomWorks, Turning Point USA and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). This partnership is second to none in highlighting the tireless work of state legislators.

When businesses closed due to COVID-19, it became clear certain “essential” businesses needed to stay open even if others temporarily closed. The states answer critical questions like these. To make sure our heroes received the proper healthcare and support, West Virginia Del. Joshua Higginbotham worked on legislation that included 911 operators as essential personnel.

But in Higginbotham’s eyes, those hard-working emergency service operators are not the only essential workers in his state – each individual in the West Virginia and American workforce is essential. He urges this narrative to change to the importance of every American in the now-reopening society, because it’s the unity that is essential to strengthen our communities in COVID-19 recover.

Thank you, Delegate Higginbotham, for protecting individual liberty and free enterprise in the states. Congratulations on being the newest State Legislator of the Month.
