Congressman Chris Cox Talks Policy at ALEC Tax Academy

Former Congressman Chris Cox of California recently addressed attendees of the 2015 ALEC Tax and Fiscal Policy Academy. While participating in the Academy, the congressman sat down with ALEC leaders to discuss the significance of the ALEC Principles of Taxation, as well as the role of states as the “50 laboratories of democracy.” Also, as the original author of the Internet Tax Freedom Act (ITFA) in 1998 (with Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon), Cox talked about how tax burdens and tax complexity continue to be the largest threats to innovation through the Internet.
