ALEC Center for State Fiscal Reform Event in North Dakota

ALEC Center for State Fiscal Reform Vice President Jonathan Williams traveled to North Dakota last week for an in-depth discussion of the state’s economy. Williams joined the Greater North Dakota Chamber where he shared analysis of North Dakota’s tax code and its effect on the economy.

The discussion showcased the ninth edition of Rich States, Poor States: ALEC-Laffer State Economic Competitiveness Index. In his presentation, Williams highlighted policy trends over the years that helped North Dakota remain a top ten state for five years running.

Williams fielded questions about how North Dakota can improve the already solid foundation for economic competitiveness by working on pension reform and creating priority based budgeting.
