Senator Bob Onder, M.D., is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. Sen. Onder is currently serving his second term representing the 2nd District of the Missouri State Senate. He received his B.S. and his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, and his J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law. Prior to his entry into politics, Sen. Onder worked as a medical doctor who is board certified in Allergy and Immunology as well as in Internal Medicine, a practice which he continues today.

Prior to his election to the state Senate, Sen. Onder served one term as a State Representative for the 13th District of the Missouri House from 2007-2008. In 2014, he was first elected to the state senate. In 2015, his first year in the senate, he was elected Assistant Majority Floor Leader, and received numerous awards from local organizations, notably the Missouri Chamber of Commerce’s Freshman Legislator of the Year, Missouri Century Organization’s Legislator of the Year and “Champion of Freedom” by the Missouri Alliance for Freedom. Sen. Onder currently sits on six committees, including Education and Ways and Means, is the Vice Chair for the Committee on Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence, and the Chairman on the Committee on General Laws and Pensions. Sen. Onder has been an advocate of ethics reform, job creation and personal liberty as well as helping to establish a regulatory framework for transportation networking companies, ending a legislative battle that had been raging for years.

In addition to his medical and legislative careers, Senator Onder is involved with a number of independent organizations. Sen. Onder is a member of the Missouri State Medical Association, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a former board member of Missouri Right to Life. He is also a member of the St. Charles, O’Fallon and Western St. Charles County Chambers of Commerce, and an active board member of the Catholic Medical Association.

In his personal life, Sen. Onder is married to his wife Allison, and is a father of six children. He is a member of St. Gianna Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He and his family reside in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.
