Commerce, Insurance, and Economic Development Task Force Director
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the nation’s largest nonpartisan, individual membership association of state legislators, is seeking a policy expert to direct the Commerce, Insurance and Economic Development Task Force.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of policy experience in finance, banking, or insurance. The candidate must also have experience or the desire to learn the areas of commerce, business and government regulation, transportation and infrastructure. A strong background of working with state legislators and state policy issues is preferred. Qualified candidates will also have excellent writing, communication, fundraising and organizational skills. Previous media experience is helpful but not necessary. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to ALEC’s mission of promoting the Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism and individual liberty.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree
Some travel is required (10%)
