The Energy, Environment, and Agriculture Task Force
operates under the principles of free-market environmentalism, that is
to promote the mutually beneficial link between a robust economy and a
healthy environment, to unleash the creative powers of the free market
for environmental stewardship, and to enhance the quality and use of our
natural and agricultural resources for the benefit of human health and
well-being.
The Task Force has launched the Climate Change
Initiative in response to the attempts at both the federal and state
levels to implement cap-and-trade programs and other regulations of
greenhouse gases. The initiative focuses on regional climate
initiatives, EPA regulations, and the federal cap-and-trade legislation.
In response to the trend of regional initiatives among states, the Task
Force works with state legislators to urge withdrawal from or repeal of
these costly measures that bind businesses and harm economies with no
substantial environmental benefit.
